Has someone been sniffing petrol?
I have to say its complete crap to suggest that cars that do below 35mpg should be banned.
If someone is stupid enough to buy a gas guzzling car that they can’t park anywhere and that gobbles up petrol then I say let them. They will end up paying more tax on the fuel, and more fool them.
I listened to James May the Top Gear presenter on the radio and have to say I agreed with what he said. Essentially his point was all human behaviour is environmentally unfriendly. So what next – banning people who have houses with more bedrooms that people in them, because that is environmentally irresponsible.
Maybe we should also limit the amount of children you have, because after-all think about the impact to the environment a single person has on the environment over their lifetime.

Ken’s set punitive charges that apply to larger vehicles. Won’t this simply mean that cargo that was previously transported in one large vehicle will be transported using many more smaller ones. I’m not sure whether this will simply lead to more congestion and pollution (that’s the most obvious short-term consequence) or simply drive commerce out of London/the UK - probably a longer term project of Kens’.
