Norman Stanley Flectcher - you’re free to go - the prison is full!

Is it just me, or were you also shocked to read that conviceted terrorists were let out on early release. It seemed to come as a bit of a shock to the Home Office too - who have now said that the policy of early release will no longer apply.

In fact when you look further into the whole situation, there appear to be more questions than answers. So someone who is sent to jail for terrorist type activities is allowed out early. OK - that’s bad enough. But when you consider that they would have been let out anyway in less than 3 weeks time from their release then aren’t you a bit worried. If someone is enough of a terrorist threat to be sent to jail, what the hell are we doing letting them free to plot and plan, and roam our streets, with what appears to be a very very light sentence.

I have never ever accepted the premise behind releasing prisoners early because the jails are full. The solution to the problem isn’t early release, it is building more prisons. Do we really have to continue to read about the statistics of how many crimes are committed by offenders out on early release before swift and decisive action is taken.

Unfortunately I suspect that’s exactly what we will have to look forward to.

  1. But it isn’t just terrorists who are being set free, our streets are no longer safe to walk because of the violent criminals and gang members who have been let out early.

What happened to the days when a prison sentence was something to be feared? When there was punishment for criminals who would brazenly flout our laws?

Now it is the honest citizen who pays the price for crimes committed in the community. Not only do we get the honor of paying for their stay in the local Iron Bar Motel, we supply them with ready targets for their guns because unlike criminals, we aren’t allowed to carry our guns when we go out.

I wonder how long we Americans will continue to put up with the injustices being shoved down our throats
